Find the right Carrickfergus experience for your budget, from public walking tours to bespoke events.

A polished brass compass and an antique-style parchment map of Carrickfergus spread across a dark, richly grained wooden table. The map shows a detailed outline of the harbour, castle, and winding historic streets in sepia tones, with elegant hand-drawn script marking key landmarks. A smooth, round river stone engraved with a Celtic knot rests on one corner of the map. Warm, directional lamplight from the left casts soft, refined shadows and subtle highlights on the brass and paper textures. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with shallow depth of field, creating a calm, scholarly atmosphere that suggests curated, guided exploration of the town’s heritage.

On the deep stone windowsill rests a neatly stacked set of printed tour leaflets, their covers showing a refined illustration of the castle and elegant typography. Cool natural light filters through the slightly wavy glass panes, creating a soft, diffused glow and delicate shadows along the textured wall. This was our second time with Tours and tales. Both tours were completely different in a great way! We are local but WOW, how embarrassing that we knew so little about where we were from!!!! Honestly, if you want to have fun and learn about Carrickfergus at the same time, take a tour with them. We also had food in Dobbins Inn (another fabulous part of our town) and the food was fab 👌. Thanks guys, look forward to our next one!!!

My friends and I had the most enlightening tour today learning the history of Carrickfergus. Our tour guides, Helen and Elizabeth, were so knowledgeable. They combined humor and kept our attention hooked from the start to the end. Thank you Helen and Elizabeth..
